Meet The Director / Teacher
My name is Deja Slaughter, and I am honored to introduce myself as the founder and director of this childcare center. As a proud mother of four, I have experienced firsthand the joys and challenges of nurturing young minds. These experiences have fueled my passion for supporting families in their children’s growth and development.
I am licensed through the state of California and have earned my Director, School-Age, Preschool Teacher, and Infant Teacher certificates. I have over four years of hands-on experience working with children through volunteer service and ministry, along with formal Early Childhood Education training through my coursework, practicum, and fieldwork.As a committed educator, I am continuing my professional growth by pursuing my Associate’s degree in Child Development, followed by my Bachelor’s.
I am dedicated to creating a caring, faith-centered environment where children can thrive. As a woman of God, it is my mission to teach children biblical principles while equipping them with the essential skills they need for their next stages of learning.

(Ages 0–5)
David’s Kingdom Academy is more than a childcare center—it's a Christ-centered place where young children learn through play, exploration, and joyful discovery. Our Christian-based approach gently weaves biblical principles into everyday routines, helping little ones grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically.
Faith Through Daily Experiences
We introduce children to God’s love through simple Bible stories, worship songs, prayer time, and values like kindness, sharing, and compassion.
Play-Based Learning
Young children learn best through hands-on play. We design activities that build early math, pre-reading, language, fine-motor, sensory, and social-emotional skills—while keeping learning fun and developmentally appropriate.
Whole-Child Development
Our environment encourages creativity, problem-solving, curiosity, and social interaction. Children learn to express themselves, work with others, and develop independence through routines and play.

⭐ Elementary / School-Age
(Ages 6–12)
David’s Kingdom Academy supports school-age children with a Christian environment that encourages academic growth, personal responsibility, and strong character rooted in faith. Our program reinforces what children learn in school while helping them strengthen their gifts and confidence.
Christ-Centered Guidance
Through age-appropriate Bible studies, devotionals, and discussions, children learn to apply Christian values—respect, integrity, responsibility—in their everyday decisions.
Academic Support & Enrichment
We offer homework help and enrichment activities in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, art, and language development (English/Spanish). Our goal is to support school success while keeping learning engaging and meaningful.
Real-World & Leadership Skills
School-age children take part in hands-on projects, creative challenges, home economics tasks, problem-solving activities, and group collaborations that build responsibility and confidence.
