🎄 December Family Activity of the Month:
“Blessings on our Tree”
🌳 Theme: Gratitude & God’s Blessings
Bible Verse:
Isaiah 9:6
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
🧺 Materials:
-
Clear or wooden ornaments (plastic works too)
-
Permanent markers, paint pens, or acrylic paints
-
Stickers, glitter, ribbon, or other decorative items
-
Small slips of paper or cardstock
-
Glue or tape
✂️ Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare Your Ornament
Choose an ornament for your project. Clear ornaments allow you to put paper or decorations inside; wooden or solid ornaments can be decorated on the surface.
Step 2: Write a Blessing or Message
On a small slip of paper or directly on the ornament, write a short message for your family. Ideas:
“We are blessed because of God’s love.”
“Peace, joy, and love in our home.”
“Thankful for our family and God’s blessings.”
Step 3: Decorate
Add stickers, glitter, paint, or drawings to make your ornament unique and colorful. Encourage kids to be creative!
Step 4: Add a Scripture
Include a short scripture reference on your ornament, e.g., Psalm 107:1 or Luke 2:10–11.
Step 5: Hang or Display
Attach a ribbon or string to your ornament. Hang it on the Christmas tree, or create a special place in your home to display all family blessings.
