April Family Activity of the Month:
Playdough Fun!
🧁 Family Playdough Recipe:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1.5 cups warm water
Food coloring (optional)
Instructions for Parents
Invite your children to help you add the flour, salt, and cream of tartar into a large bowl
Let them take turns stirring so everyone feels included
Slowly add the oil and warm water while mixing together
When it begins to form, encourage your children to knead the dough with their hands
Use this time to talk about how the dough is being shaped as they work it
💬 Faith Moment
As they knead, gently share this scripture:
“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” — Isaiah 64:8
Explain in simple terms that just like they are shaping the dough, God shapes each of us with love and purpose
🫶 Activity Time
Let each child choose a color and knead it into their dough
Invite them to create something that represents who they are, what they love, or what they are thankful for
Ask them to share about what they made and why
🌈 Optional Ideas
Add glitter for sparkle dough
Use cookie cutters for fun shapes
Divide dough into multiple colors
